Meet the Booger Patrol...
Claire Collins, 9 years old, is the unofficial leader of the Booger Patrol. She started the Booger Patrol along with Sofie and Paul. She has two older brothers, Michael who is in college and Jason in high school. Her mother works remotely from home and her father is a construction supervisor. Claire likes school and sports. She plays soccer and tennis. Her favorite subject is Math.
Paul Stevens, 8 years old, lives next door to Claire. His mother is a police officer and his father is a mechanic. He’s an only child that likes to invent gadgets and take things apart. He builds things out of wood and metal and tries to fix things that break. He likes school and has started playing the trombone in the school band. His favorite subject is Science.
Sofie Sanchez, 8 years old, lives across the street and down the block from Claire and Paul. She has a little brother, Michael, who is 5. Her mother is a nurse and her father is in the Air Force. Jessica, who is in college, lives at Sofie’s house and takes care of her and her brother when her dad is deployed and her mom is working shifts at the hospital. Sofie likes Music and Art and those are her favorite subjects in school.
Jay Foster, 9 years old, just moved into a big old house at the end of a long lane with trees on both sides. He has a little sister, Annie, who is 3. He currently needs to use a wheelchair to get around but is going to regular therapy sessions to build his strength and coordination so he can walk again. Jay’s mother teaches at the university and his dad is a financial planner. He likes sports and animals and hopes to be a veterinarian.
Andrea (Andi) Hughes, 8 years old, moved into the new condominiums near the hospital with her mom, an emergency room doctor. She has a dog named Benji and likes to swim and play the piano. Andi is shy and doesn’t like being the “new kid” but is happy that she can now be part of the Booger Patrol. Her favorite subjects are reading, writing and math. She’s proud of her mom but wants to be a writer, not a doctor.
Mr. Myers lives between Paul and Claire. He’s a retired teacher whose wife died of cancer several years ago. The kids and parents in the neighborhood all like him and help him out with yardwork and chores. He listens to the kids and helps them with projects and homework. Sometimes the kids go to Mr. Myers’ house after school if their parents are running late.
